Superfoods rich in flavonoids (inlcudes citrus fruits, asparagus, soya beans & cayenne) The nutrients called 'flavonoids' which are present in these fruit, vegetables and pulses are believed to be helpful as anti-carcinogens. Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes pickled shallots, leeks and green onion) The onion and garlic family of foods is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe could be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Even though there is precious little scientific evidence available, allyl sulphides are also thought by many experts to reduce problems with blood circulation, arteriosclerosis and insomnia.
