Diet informationThe Zone Diet The Zone diet is a diet first devised by Barry Sears in a number of books and publications. The Zone diet isn’t exactly a weight loss diet, although many zone diet followers find that they actually manage to lose weight by following it. The science behind the Zone Diet is that if one can control the secretion of two key hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids which, in turn puts the body in a balanced state which is much more healthy than normal, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone". Sears alleges that if you get into this 'zone', your body is working at its most efficient and, as a result, does not build up layers of fat. The main technique of the system is to keep tight control over the ratio of carbs to proteins, and to ensure you get plenty of Omega 3 and omega 6. |
