Ingredients
4 cup unsweetened canned or bottled fruit, and juice
1 egg or 2 egg whites
1 tbsp baking soda
1 cup unswetened fruit, cut up or mashed, if needed
4 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup unsweetened fruit juice
1 tsp ground cloves - optional
1 tsp nutmeg
2 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins or chopped dates - -optiona, l

Mash fruit and juice together, or blend it in a blender if you prefer.
Add the egg and baking soda. Mix and set aside.
Mix the egg or egg whites with the cup of fruit. Add to the fruit
mixture. Add flour, cup of juice, and spices. Stir in raisins or dates.
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes in a non-stick 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Serve
plain or with a dollop of low-cal whipped topping.
Makes 12 servings. Each serving counts as 1 starch and 1 fruit. Each
serving has 178 calories and 1 grams of fat.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a weight loss program initially detailed by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet isn’t distinctly a fat reduction diet, however some people believe that they really reduce weight when following it. The theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you manage to gain control of the amount of insulin and glucogen (two hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids (anti-inflamatory chemicals) which, as a consequence puts the body in a state of balance that is much, much more healthful than normal, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone". Sears claims that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is perfectly balanced and, as a consequence, does not convert energy to unsightly fat. The most valuable process of the zone system is to maintain the precise ratio of carbs to proteins, and to ensure your diet has increased levels of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils. Super foods containing lycopene (includes water melon, red peppers & spiny bitter gourd) The chemical lypcopene is a natural pigment and a member of the same group of phytochemicals as carotene. Lycopene is the reason for the red color of quite a few fruits and vegetables. Usefully, unlike many nutrients, it does not degrade if cooked, rather it is genuinely strengthened by going through the cooking process. . Its most valuable nutritional contribution is that it acts as an antioxidant and is thought to be an asset in the fight to lower the risks of contracting cancer.
