The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet primarily suggested by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet isn’t particularly a weight loss diet, but many followers claim that they really manage to lose a few pounds by following it.
The 'science' claimed for the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to gain control of the secretion of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, as a result puts the body in a state of equilibrium which is more healthful than it normally is, this is referred to as 'the zone'.
Sears holds the theory that when your body is in this 'zone' it is working at its best and, because of this, does not build up layers of fat.
The main process of the diet is to maintain the precise ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to make sure your diet has increased amounts of Omega 3 and omega 6.

Foods rich in flavonoids
(inlcudes lettuce, asparagus, adzuki bean and chamomile)

The nutrients called 'flavonoids' which exist in these types of food are believed to have properties in fighting cancer.
Experts researching the medical effects of flavonoids believe that they may also have many health benefits, amongst them, anti-asthma and antioxidant activities..
The majority of these also help you lose weight, so are ideal for including in your diet.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
