Ingredients
3 oz neufchatel cream cheese
2 cup skim milk, cold
3 oz pkg. jell-o sugar-free instant choc, olate pudding
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/3 cup cherry juice
1 can red sour pitted cherries, 1 lb., water packed
6 package equal sweetener
Directions
Blend cream cheese with 1/4 cup skim milk on low speed of electric mixer,
until smooth. Add remaining milk and pudding mix. Mix 1 or 2 minutes or
until smooth.
Mix cornstarch in cherry juice until dissolved. Add to cherries and cook
until it boils for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in Equal.
Alternately spoon pudding and cherries into parfait dishes, ending with
pudding. Garnish with 2 cherries.

carbohydrate 16g, sodium 304mg.

The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the 1960s, the famous atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last few years. Popular with many famous celebrities, it allows fat reduction whilst still eating foods that are normally considered bad for diets, like beef and eggs. With the atkins diet it is considered good to eat fat and protein, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. It is referred to as a high protein, low carb, weight loss program. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour. Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The controversial theory behind the atkins diet is that if we consume fewer carbohydrates, we will consume our fat and we will get rid of some fat Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes garlic, chives and spring onions) The onion and garlic family is high in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe could be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Although there is not enough, definitive proof present, allyl sulfides are also thought by many researchers to reduce the symptoms of colds, sterilization and diabetes. Foods containing allyl sulfides also help you lose weight, so should be a part of every weight loss regime. |
