The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the 1960s, the atkins diet is still widely used today. Popular with many famous celebrities, it claims to allow fat reduction whilst still eating foods that are normally considered bad for diets, for example beef and egg and cheese.
With the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. It is referred to as a high protein, low carb, diet system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter & olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The controversial theory behind the famous atkins diet is that if we consume fewer carbohydrates, our bodies will utilise our fat and we will get rid of some fat

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a weight loss program first created by Barry Sears in a number of books. The Zone diet is not exactly a weight loss diet, however many followers claim that they manage to lose weight when following it.
The science claimed for the Zone Diet is that if you manage to control the levels of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids which, as a result puts the body in a state of equilibrium which is far more healthful than normal, which is known as the zone.
Sears believes that if you get into this 'zone', your body is working at its most efficient and, because of this, does not build up layers of fat.
The most valuable method of the diet is to monitor and control the exact ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to dose yourself with large amounts of Omega 3 and omega 6.

Superfoods containing carotenes
(includes cilantro, kale and tomato ketchup)
These colorful foods have high levels of the carotenoids believed by doctors be a key nutrient in minimising the risk of cancer, spefically cancer of the esophagus. Many also help you lose weight, so should be included in every diet system.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
