Diet types

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a weight loss system started by Dr. arthur agatston which encourages that one should consume "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Dr. agatston invented his weight loss system for people who have heart disease, as a result of his analysis of scientific research on other weight loss systems.
"good" foods include, canadian bacon, turkey bacon, oysters, provolone cheese, peanut butter, lowfat or nonfat milk and some vegatables, such as lentils, eggplant and sprouts.

The Atkins’ Diet
Originating way back in the 1960s, the popular atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Although highly controversial, it allows weight reduction whilst allowing many foods that are not normally available to dieters, like meat and some dairy produce.
On the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. Because of this, it is known as a high protein, low carb, nutrition and weightloss system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
With this diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a result, olive oil.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition system initially invented by Barry Sears in a number of books and publications. The Zone diet isn’t specifically a weight reduction diet, although many zone diet fans discover that they actually manage to lose weight by following this system.
The scientific theory behind the Zone Diet is that if one can gain control of the levels of two key hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, in turn puts the body in a state of balance which is much, much more healthy than usual, this is referred to as 'the zone'.
Sears states that a body that is in 'the zone' is much more efficient and, as a result, does not need to build up stores of fat.
The key method of the diet is to keep tight control over the exact ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to dose yourself with large amounts of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
