The low-cal diet

Put simply, low calorie diet depends on the fact that if you want to become thinner, it is important to eat fewer calories than your body requires.

What is a calorie?
The calorie is the standard unit for energy measurement in dieting. The calorie is the the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree celsius. If something contains more calories, then it will will give you more energy to use when it is converted.

Low calorie food types include lettuce, red peppers, water melon, beef, and low-fat cheese.

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet plan started by Cardiologist arthur agatston which emphasizes that dieters should be eating "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Dr. agatston developed his nutritional system for people who have cardiac problems, based on his detailed analysis of scientific research completed on other weight loss studies.
Examples of good foods include, broiled ham, turkey breast, clams, ricotta cheese, pistachios, eggs and some vegatables, like green beans, cauliflower and snow peas.

Foods high in flavonoids
(inlcudes olive oil, brussels sprouts, adzuki bean & coriander)

The compounds known as flavonoids found in these types of food are thought to have properties in fighting cancer.
Medical experts investigating the medical effects of flavonoids believe they may well also have numerous other benefits to our health, including, but not limited to, anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory capabilities.
The majority of these are also low in calories, so should be included in your diet system.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
