Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 pt reduced-fat (2%) milk
2 large eggs, beaten
2 oz butter, melted
1 fresh vanilla bean
1 banana, sliced
Nonstick cooking spray
Directions
Sift all dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl. In a separate bowl,
combine the milk, eggs, and butter. Combine the wet and dry ingredients
until they form a batter. Slice the vanilla bean in half and scrape out
the pulp from the center of the bean. Mix the vanilla pulp into the
pancake batter. Gently mix the sliced bananas into the batter.
Spray a pan with nonstick cooking spray and heat the pan over medium heat.
Use about 1/3 cup of batter per pancake.
This recipe yields 6 servings. Serving size: 2 pancakes.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a weight loss program primarily devised by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an accompanying website. The Zone diet isn’t specifically a fat reduction diet, however some people claim that they lose a few pounds when following it. The science claimed for the Zone Diet is that if you limit the secretion of the hormones 'insulin' and 'glucogen', then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, in turn puts your body in a balanced state that is a lot more healthful than other diets, this is referred to as 'the zone'. Sears alleges that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is working at its most efficient and, as a consequence, does not convert energy to unsightly fat. The main process of the zone diet is to monitor and control the precise ratio of carbs to proteins, and to dose yourself with plenty of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils. Brassicas, Tasty superfoods that help with Dieting (eg. Kohlrabi, Celery, Turnip greens and Daikon) Vegetablesi in the brassica family are packed with vitamins (including vitamin c and folate), minerals (selenium and potassium, amongst others), fibre, chlorophyll, antioxidents, indole-3-carbinol and isothiocyanates.. Over and above their most other health and weight loss benefits, the minerals and nutrients in these are believed to significantly lower the risk of getting cancer. |
