Brassicas, Superfoods that aid Your diet (includes Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Turnips and Daikon) Altthough not always popular with children, these vegetables are packed with vitamins (folate and vitamin c), minerals (selenium and potassium, for example), isothiocyanates, antioxidents and indole-3-carbinol. Amongst many health and weight loss benefits, the minerals, vitamins and nutrients in these are thought to reduce the risk of cancer. Foods containing allyl sulfides ( includes garlic, onions and welsh onion) The onion family of foods is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer. Even though there is too little scientific proof available, allyl sulphides are also thought by many experts to reduce symptoms with antiinflammatory effect, high blood pressure and physical exhaustion.
