Wonder foods with carotenes
(includes paprika, rose hip puree and sweet potatoes)
These orange and green fruits and vegetables are rich in alpha-carotene and beta-carotene believed by experts to help in preventing cancer, specifically of the the lungs. Many are also good for weight loss, so make sure you add them to your weight loss regime.

Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes eschalot, white onions and spring onions)

The alliaceae family of foods is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe could be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Although there is as yet, not enough scientific proof present, allyl sulfides are also thought by many experts to reduce the symptoms of antiinflammatory effect, high blood pressure and fatigue.

Foods containing allyl sulfides also help you lose weight, so make sure you add them to your weight loss regime.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a weight loss program initially suggested by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet is not distinctly a weight reduction diet, although many followers claim that they seem to lose a few pounds by following this system.
The scientific theory behind the Zone Diet is that if one can gain control of the levels of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, as a consequence puts your body in a state of equilibrium which is far more wholesome than it normally is, which, not surprisingly, is known as 'the zone'.
Sears holds the theory that if you get into this 'zone', your metabolism is much more efficient and, because of this, doesn't build up fat.
The most interesting technique of the system is to monitor and control the exact ratio of carbs to proteins, and to ensure your diet has increased levels of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
