Types of diet

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet started by Dr. arthur agatston which stresses that dieters should be eating "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Doctor agatston developed his dietary regime for people who have cardiac problems, based on his analysis of scientific data completed on other weight loss studies.
"good" foods include, lean beef, skinless poultry, prawns, provolone cheese, pistachio nuts, nonfat milk and some vegatables, like chickpeas, celery and spinach.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition system initially detailed by Barry Sears in a number of books and publications. The Zone diet isn’t expressly a weight reduction diet, but many zone diet fans discover that they reduce body weight when following it.
The 'science' claimed for the Zone Diet is that if one can manage to control the levels of insulin and glucogen (two hormones produced naturally by your body), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which puts your body in a state of balance that is far more wholesome than normal, which followers of the diet, refer to as '"he zone".
Sears alleges that a body that is in 'the zone' is working at its best and, as a result, does not convert energy to unsightly fat.
The main procedure of the system is to keep tight control over the ratio of carbs to proteins, and to ensure you get plenty of Omega 6 and omega 3 fish oils.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
Phillip C. McGraw
