The Recipe Instructions

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup evaporated skim milk
1 1/2 cup skim milk
1/3 cup sugar, plus
2 tbsp sugar
1 cup egg substitute
1 egg yolk
2 tsp port wine
2 tsp vanilla

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Scald the milks together in a heavy
saucepan. Remove from the heat.

Caramelize the sugar in a skillet over medium heat until it melts and turns
brown. Slowly add the milks to the sugar, stirring constantly until the
sugar dissolves.

In a medium bowl, beat the egg substitute and egg yolk together until it is
lemon-colored. Add the milk mixture, port, and vanilla and stir well.

Pour the mixture into 6 custard cups and place them into a baking dish.
Pour boiling water into the baking dish so that the water comes halfway up
the sides of the cups. Place in the oven and bake until set, about 35 to
40 minutes.

Remove the custard cups from the oven and cool completely in the
refrigerator. When they are chilled, place a dessert plate on top of each
custard cup and invert. Serve immediately.

Types of diet

The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last few years. Popular with many famous celebrities, it supposedly allows weight loss whilst still eating many of the foods you love, eg meat and eggs.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. Because of this, it is known as a low carb/high protein, nutrition and weight loss system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet started by Miami, florida-area cardiologist arthur agatston which encourages that dieters should eat "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Doctor agatston developed his nutritional system for people who have cardiac problems, based on his analysis of scientific research completed on other weight loss studies.
Approved foods include, broiled ham, turkey bacon, shrimp, parmesan cheese, pistachios, nonfat yoghurt and some vegatables, such as chickpeas, cauliflower and spinach.

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
