Diet typesThe Glycaemic Index Diet The glycaemic index nutrition and weight loss system is linked to the glycaemic index, a list showing foods and an indicator of the speed that the glucose in the food gets transformed to glucose in your bloodstream. The theory is that slow acting foods (ie with a low Glycaemic index score), will keep you feeling full for longer and help to reduce your consumption of food without feeling you are always hungry. It's also extremely efficient for sufferers from diabetes, as the low GI types of food are beneficial in managing surges in blood sugar amount. |
