Lycopene rich foods
(includes grapefruit, red peppers & sweet gourd)

Lycopene is a simple chemical compound and part of the same group of phytochemicals as carotene. Lycopene is accountable for the vivid red hue of a good number of fruit and vegetables.

Fortunately, unlike most other vitamins, lycopene not only survives being cooked, but is essentially improved by the cooking process.

. Its key advantage is that it behaves as an antioxidant and is thought to help to lower the probabilty of developing cancer.

Lycopene is the most powerful eliminator of singlet oxygen, which is connected with aging of the skin. It is also thought by nutritionalists to impede the growth of atherosclerosis.

Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes pickled shallots, chives and welsh onion)

The onion family of vegetables is rich in allyl sulphides, a chemical which experts believe might be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Even though there is very little hard medical proof available, allyl sulphides are also thought by nutritionalists to help with antiinflammatory effect, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Foods containing allyl sulfides are also good for weight loss, so are ideal for including in your diet.

The Atkins’ Diet
Originating way back in the 1960s, the popular atkins diet is still widely used today. Popular with many famous celebrities, it enables fat reduction whilst still eating many of the foods you love, like beef and hard cheeses.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet it is considered good to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that must be avoided. Because of this, it is known as a high protein, low carb, weight loss regime.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The theory of the popular atkins diet is that if we consume fewer carbs, we will deplete our stored fat and we will achieve weight loss

"A good cook is the peculiar gift of the gods. He must be a perfect creature from the brain to the palate, from the palate to the finger's end.
"Walter Savage Landor"

"A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit."

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
