Ingredients

CAKE

1 tbsp all purpose flour
8 large egg whites
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 package yellow cake mix (reg size)
1 without pudding in the mix
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup apricot nectar

GLAZE

1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup nonfat buttermilk
2 tbsp tub style reduced calorie
1 margarine
1/4 tsp vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly coat a 12 cup Bundt Pan with non
stick spray. Dust the pan with the 1 tablespoon of flour. Set aside.

In a large bowl beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until they
are foamy. Stir in the applesauce, then stir in the cake mix and
sugar.

Slowly drizzle the apricot nectar into the egg white mixture while
beating the mixture on a low speed. Then beat the mixture on medium

the cake comes out clean. Cool the cake in the pan on a rack for 10

and vanilla. Bring to a boil without stirring. Reduce heat and
gently boil for one minute.

Invert the cake onto a serving platter and remove the pan. While the
cake is still warm, use a toothpick to poke holes in it. Then pour
the glaze over the cake.

Cool before serving.

The Atkins’ Diet
Although it originated back in the 1960s, the atkins diet is still one of the most popular diets today. Popular with many famous celebrities, it enables weight reduction whilst allowing you to eat many foods that are not normally available to dieters, such as pork and butter.
With this diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that are on the banned list. Because of this, it is known as a low carb/high protein, diet system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods such as meat, fish and poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The theory of the atkins diet is that although our bodies use both fats and carbohydrates to burn into glucose, it is the carbohydrates which are burned first. If we take in fewer carbohydrates, our bodies will burn up our stored fat and we will achieve weight loss. Although inviting, this theory is contentious, not all nutritionalists are in agreement and many hold that it might be risky.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi (or glycaemic index) diet system is based on the glycaemic index, a list showing food types and a score representing the speed with which the carbs of the food gets changed to sugar in the dieters blood stream. The believe is that slow release food types (ie those foods with a low Gi number), suppress your appetite and help you to injest less food without feeling you are missing out.
It is also extremely beneficial for diabetes sufferers, as the low GI food types are useful in preventing surges in blood glucose secretion.

The brassica family, Wonder foods that aid Dieting
(eg. Kale, Cauliflower, Tatsoi and Horseradish)
Altthough not always popular with children, these are packed with vitamins (eg.folate and vit c), minerals (eg. potassium), fibre, chlorophyll, antioxidents, indole-3-carbinol and isothiocyanates..

Over and above their many health and weight loss benefits, a few of these nutrients are thought by experts to reduce the risk of cancer.

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
