Ingredients

2 large apples, diced and pared
1/2 cup celery, diced
1/4 cup raisins
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp mayo, reduced calorie
8 lettuce leaves
Directions
Combine all ingredients except lettuce; mix well Refrigerate until
ready to serve. Serve on Lettuce Leaves, optional of course.
Each serving 1/4 cup Yeild 8 servings Each serving may be exchaned

Diet typesThe Glycaemic Index Diet The gi (or glycaemic index) nutrition and weight loss system is based around the gi index, a list of food types and an indicator of the speed that the energy of the food gets changed to glucose in the dieters bloodstream. The believe is that slow acting types of food (ie those with a low Glycaemic index score), keep you feeling full longer and help you to eat less food without feeling you are missing out. It is also especially beneficial for diabetics, as the low GI types of food are beneficial in managing increases in blood glucose amount. The Atkins’ Diet Although it originated back in the 1960s, the atkins diet is still widely used today. Although not accepted by all scientists, it allows fat reduction but still allows you to eat many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, eg beef and butter. On the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, it is the carbs that must be avoided. It is often referred to as a high protein, low carb, nutrition system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil. The Atkins’ Diet Theory The logic of the famous atkins diet is that if we eat less carbohydrates, we will consume the fat we have stored and we will achieve weight loss |
