Weight loss systemsThe Atkins’ Diet First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last decade. Although highly controversial, it supposedly allows weight reduction whilst still eating many of the foods you love, like fatty meat and hard cheese. With the atkins diet you are encouraged to eat meat and fat, it is carbohydrates that need to be avoided. Because of this, it is known as a low carbohydrate, high protein, nutrition and weightloss system. With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour. Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat continues to be nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil. The Zone Diet The Zone diet is a nutrition and weightloss system first advocated by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an associated website. The Zone diet isn’t expressly a fat reduction diet, although some people discover that they really lose a few pounds by following the zone diet. The 'science' claimed for the Zone Diet is that if one can control the amount of insulin and glucogen (two hormones produced naturally by your body), then anti-inflammatory chemicals are released which, as a result puts the body in a balanced state that is a lot more healthy than it normally is, which is known as the zone. Sears holds the theory that a body that is in 'the zone' is perfectly balanced and, because of this, does not need to convert surplus energy to fat. The key procedure of the diet is to monitor and control the exact ratio of carbohydrates to proteins, and to take plenty of Omega 3 fish oils. |
