Types of diet

The Atkins’ Diet
First invented by doctor atkins in the sixities, the famous atkins diet achieved most of its fame during the last decade. Having many well known film stars amongst its supporters, it claims to allow weight reduction whilst allowing many foods that would not be part of a normal diet, for example beef and butter.
With the atkins diet you are supposed to eat fat and protein, it is the carbs that must be avoided. It is often referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, nutrition system.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, including cereals and pasta made from white flour.
Unlike other diets, with the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are still nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish and, as a consequence, poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and, as a consequence, olive oil.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a nutrition and weight loss system primarily detailed by Barry Sears in a series of books, publications and an associated web site. The Zone diet isn’t particularly a fat reduction diet, nevertheless some people believe that they really lose weight by following it.
The science behind the Zone Diet is that if one can gain control of the amount of two important hormones, (insulin and glucogen), then your body releases eicosanoids which, in turn puts the body in a state of balance that is an awful lot more healthful than it normally is, which is known as the zone.
Sears states that when in the 'zone', your body is much more efficient and, as a result, doesn't need to build up stores of fat.
The key method of the diet is to control the exact ratio of carbs to proteins, and to dose yourself with plenty of Omega 3 fish oils.

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
