Ingredients
1 cup low-fat (1%) cottage cheese
1 can mandarin oranges in juice - (11 oz), drained
1 can pineapple tidbits in juice - (8 oz), drained
1 tbsp fat-free French dressing
2 lettuce leaves
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Spoon onto lettuce leaves.
This recipe yields 2 servings. Serving size: 1/2 of recipe.

Carotenoid foods (includes paprika, turnip greens and sweet potatoes) These orange and green foods have high levels of alpha and beta carotenes thought play a key role in minimising the risk of cancer, particularly of the esophagus. The majority of these also have a low calorie count, so should be included in your weight loss regime. The Glycaemic Index Diet The gi index diet is based around the gi (or glycaemic index), a chart showing types of food and a score illustrating the ease that the carbs of the food type gets converted to sugar in the dieters system. The believe is that slow acting foods (ie those foods with a low Glycaemic score), suppress your appetite and mean that you can consume fewer food without craving snacks all the time. It's also extremely effective for sufferers from diabetes, as the low GI food types are useful in controlling surges in blood glucose amount. |
