Ingredients
1 large loaf:, small loaf:
1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast, (1 t)
3 cup bread flour, (2 c)
3 tbsp wheat germ, (2 t), *
3 tbsp oat bran, (2 t), **
1 3/4 tsp salt, (1 1/4 t)
1 1/2 tsp sugar, (1 t)
2 tsp wonderslim, (1/2 t), ***
2 cl garlic, minced, (1)
3 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped, (2 t
1 1/4 cup water, (3/4 c + 1 t)

*Note: I omitted the wheat germ. **Note: Original recipe calls for
wheat bran. ***Note: Original recipe calls for 1 1/2 T vegetable oil
for the large loaf and (1 T). I use Wonderslim.
This is good bread for a steak sandwich, French dip roast beef or a
grilled mozzarella cheese and tomato sandwich. Baking the garlic
right in the bread lightens the garlic flavor. If this is not strong
enough for you add another clove.
Add all ingredients in the order suggested by your bread machine
manual and process on the basic bread cycle according to the
manufacturer's directions. Let the loaf cool before slicing. Serve
plain or toasted.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index weight loss program is based around the glycaemic index, a chart showing food types and an indicator of the ease with which the energy in the food type gets transformed to glucose in the dieters system. The South Beach Diet The South Beach diet is a diet created by Dr. arthur agatston which stresses that dieters should be eating "good carbohydrates" instead of "bad carbs" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats" Dr. agatston invented his dietary regime for people who have heart disease, as a consequence of his detailed study of scientific studies completed on other dietary studies. Examples of good foods include, lean beef, turkey breast, shrimp, fat-free cheeses, peanut butter, eggs and certain vegetables, like black beans, cucumbers and spinach. Foods rich in lycopene (includes apricots, red peppers and tomato sauce) Lycopene is a simple chemical compound and one of the same group of phytochemicals as carotene. Lycopene is behind the vivid red colour of some natural foods. Unlike numerous other nutrients, it does not degrade if cooked, but is really increased in efficacy by going through the cooking process. . Its most valuable advantage is that it behaves as an antioxidant and is thought to be an asset in the fight to reduce the chances of contracting cancer. Lycopene is the most efficacious eliminator of singlet oxygen, which is associated with aging of the skin. It is also thought by many experts to curtail the development of diseases affecting arterial blood vessels. |
