Weight loss diets

The South Beach Diet
The South Beach diet is a diet created by Dr. arthur agatston which encourages that one should consume "good carbs" instead of "bad carbohydrates" and "good fats" instead of "bad fats"
Dr. agatston developed the south beach diet for his cardiac patients, as a consequence of his detailed analysis of scientific studies on other weight loss systems.
"good" foods include, broiled ham, skinless poultry, prawns, mozzarella cheese, peanut butter, eggs and some vegatables, such as lentils, celery and mushrooms.

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index nutrition system is linked to the glycaemic index, a chart showing food types and a score illustrating the speed that the glucose in the food gets transformed to glucose in your system. The believe is that slow acting foods (ie those food types with a low Gi score), keep you feeling full longer and help you to cut down on food without feeling you are always hungry.
It is also beneficial for diabetes sufferers, as the low GI types of food are helpful in minimizing rises in glucose amount.

The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is a diet first suggested by Barry Sears in a number of books, publications and an accompanying website. The Zone diet isn’t distinctly a weight loss diet, nevertheless many 'zone dieters' believe that they actually reduce body weight by following it.
The scientific theory behind the Zone Diet is that if you gain control of the levels of insulin and glucogen (two hormones), then your body releases eicosanoids which puts one's body in a balanced state which is much, much more wholesome than other diets, which is known as the zone.
Sears alleges that if you get into this 'zone', your body is working at its best and, because of this, does not convert energy to unsightly fat.
The main method of the zone system is to control the ratio of carbs to proteins, and to make sure your diet has increased levels of Omega 3 and omega 6.

"Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life"
